Summary

Depending on who you ask this Halloween, spooky season is either ending or just getting started. As the 2024 US presidential elections near, our team at the Center has been sharing posts summarizing the work of Earthjustice, Energy Innovation, and others on just how consequential the outcome might be.

What’s at Stake? A lot. Read more about it in our first linked resource, Potential US Pathways on Climate, Jobs and Health. There are also down ballot initiatives of great significance too -from the future of Washington’s cap and invest program to California’s proposition to create a $10 billion bond to pay for the impacts of climate change across the state.

It’s time to make your voice heard. In these energetic and candy-filled final days before the election, we encourage you to double check your voter registration status here and read up on what’s on your ballot here.

What's in the October Update?

Spooks aside, there’s a tremendous amount of good news we have to share with you this month. Read onto see how the Biden Administration is protecting future federal funding and learn how to use tax chaining and direct pay tax credits to advance clean energy. We cover unique new climate initiatives from intergenerational housing pilots and zoning densification innovations to how cable cars can dramatically decrease traffic and a celebration of the launch of the US’ first hydrogen-powered train.
